SOUNDGARDEN Interviewed By NME TV (Video)
November 19, 2012NME TV caught up with reunited grunge legends SOUNDGARDEN ahead of their Shepherd's Bush Empire show, 18 years after they were the very first band to play there live. They tell NME TV why they decided to record a new album and what it was like being in the studio together again. Check out the chat below.
"King Animal", the first collection of all-new material in 16 years from SOUNDGARDEN, and first since the group reunited in 2010, is likely to sell between 70,000 and 75,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release, according to industry web site Hits Daily Double. The estimate was based on one-day sales reports compiled after the record arrived in stores on November 13 via Tom Whalley's new record label, a partnership between his Seven Four Entertainment and Republic Records.
SOUNDGARDEN blasted through 23 songs in front of 1,000 people at New York City's Irving Plaza nightclub on November 13 in the first of three such shows to celebrate the arrival of "King Animal".
The band reunited in 2010 after a 13-year break, releasing a retrospective collection called "Telephantasm" and a concert album titled "Live On I-5".
